Nathan

Owner / Head Coach

Nathan started gymnastics at age six, immediately fell in love with the sport and was selected for the club squad. By age seven Nathan was training 20 hours a week under the guidance Collin Buffin and Peter Haysham, who was the Welsh National Coach. Nathan’s first success in gymnastics was winning the under 8’s Welsh Championships. Over the next few years Nathan went on to become the Welsh champion and achieve bronze and silver in the British Championships.

At age 14, Nathan was selected to represent Britain in a 4-way international competition held in Switzerland, and his career highlights were representing Wales in the Junior Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia as well as becoming British Under 16 High Bar gold medalist beating the likes of Max Whitlock and Lewis Smith. Nathan continued training, completed his A Levels at Llantwit Major Comprehensive School and went on to study Biomedical Research at Cardiff University. After completing three years at Cardiff and sustaining a career ending knee injury and missing the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Nathan setup Vale Gymnastics and the rest is history.

The difference between being good and being great is that someone who is good
practices something until they get it right, but somebody who is great
practices it until they never get it wrong
